We are back from Michigan and the pageant was a lot of fun. Considering the lousy timing of the now ex-boyfriend Jamie still managed to hold her head up and have a good time. A young women named Alex from NC with MD won the title. Alex's family was unable to attend the pageant and because her and Jamie formed an immediate friendship, we became her family for the week. We were so happy when she won it was well deserved. Jamie didn't walk away empty handed. The wheelchair company Colours gave an award for the most colorful personality and Jamie won. They are going to give her a customized wheelchair. Meeting another young lady with FA was the highlight of the trip. The two girls had so much in common outside of the FA they could have been sisters. The friends she made and the memories she shares with them are the biggest prize of all. Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes you gave to me and Jamie. I have attached a picture of Jamie from the night of the pageant with her friend Elizabeth who traveled with us.
