I love rafting
-
I love rafting with splore
-
I love rafting with splore and fa families
-
but what put me over the edge was a complete exstacy of enjoying my time with little mikey and seeing him love his job and working his love
-
being in nature and seeing the close ties life has with death is beyond words for me
-
The dead trees that provide shade for me and other animals
-
we also saw many bald eagle nests on dead trees
-
the tamaracks are dying which used to consume many thousands of gallons of water a day
-
water of course is a lifeblood of all plants and animals
-
it is awe inspiring to be part of that
-
It is wonderful to be in a place where time truly doesn't matter, neither do any worldly concerns or disability
-
some people say this place is on the colorado river on earth but I truly believe it is a whole different planet
-
I was on a constant high on life since the day before we left til the morning when I got to my place and woke up later in the morning to see reality.
-
There were constant moments of joy on this trip even the ones that didn't seem that great at the time turned out to be marvelous moments too!
-
I have felt for many years that the river is my home. Splore is my family. All the families I go with are part of my extended family.
-
There were two therapy dogs on this trip. They were both veyr well behaved and added so much to the trip.
-
I am nearly recovered and Ori seems back to her old self. She spent the week with a very loving family with two dogs. She had a lot of fun and exercise there. Knowing that she was there helped me to have an even more wonderful time.
-
I want to share a few of the magical moments:
-
Splore took six people in wheelchairs and two that didn't need wheelchairs all the time into the most unaccessible areas
-
We got in the water when it got too hot, got dry when we were too cold
-
We smiled and laughed and even cried some
-
-
Thank you all so much
